Knowing how to use make-up in a way that helps you feel good about how you look, can be a real challenge for many women. Make-up techniques can appear simple when you see them demonstrated in a magazine or department store. But when you try them out at home, it’s often hard to recreate the look you want.
If this sounds like your experience don’t worry, you’re not alone! Over the last twenty years, I’ve met countless women who have struggled to find and achieve the look they want.
That’s why I set up realbeauty. I’m Rachel Hinton and I teach real women how to confidently choose and use the right make-up, to enhance their own natural beauty.
I passionately believe that every woman has her own unique beauty. Many of us are quick to see it in our friends, but slow to see it in ourselves. Real beauty starts from within and confidence is a key factor in releasing and expressing this in ourselves.
When we feel confident that we are looking our best, that’s when we relax and let our inner beauty shine out.
Make-up is an essential part of a modern woman’s tool-kit. The right make-up, correctly applied, can help give you that confidence.
I’ve been working with make up and skin care for 20 years, including over ten years as a make-up artist in film and TV. Working with countless celebrities regarded for their beauty taught me that beauty is less about how our features are arranged and a whole lot more to do with how we feel about and value ourselves. This is what radiates from us and leaves a lasting impression.
The advantage celebrities have over the rest of us of course is that they have a make-up artist on hand to ensure their make-up is just right, helping them to step out even on those days when they would rather stay under the covers.
Now, you too can have the same advantage. Under my guidance you will learn the best application techniques and also fresh ways to approach make-up. Working together, we will explore what will best bring out and express your real beauty.

At a realbeauty make up session, you will …
- Learn how to apply your make-up correctly (under my guidance we will both apply your make-up, one step at a time, so that you will learn exactly what to do to recreate the perfect look when you are back home).
- Understand how to choose the right make-up for you so that you can shop with confidence and stop wasting money on unnecessary products.
- Learn how to apply make-up in the time you normally have available!
- Find out how to kit out your make-up bag so that it contains exactly the right products and tools you will need, whatever the occasion.

With realbeauty it’s all about you. We will first discuss what you’re looking for and then, working together, I will teach you how to best create your look. There is no particular look or style that will be forced on you and we’ll have fun exploring ideas together.
You will learn what to do and how to do it, by applying half the make-up yourself. This means you will be able to recreate the same look for yourself at home.
The lessons take place in a private space, so that you are not on display. You’ll feel more relaxed and more willing to experiment.
I also encourage you to bring your own make-up with you so that you can learn how to make the most of the products you already have. If we feel that you need any extra make up I will provide this on the day for you to try.
Of course, knowing how to apply your make up correctly is essential, but using the best products is also vital. I have spent years researching and testing the natural skin care market and believe that whatever products we use should not only look, feel and perform beautifully, but also do us and the environment no harm.
